Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) has created the Level 3 Award in Education & Training in response to the New Overarching Professional Standards for teachers, tutors, and trainers in the Lifelong Learning Sector.
This Award is intended for individuals entering the teaching profession within the Lifelong Learning Sector or for anyone seeking recognized teaching status as outlined in the New Overarching Professional Standards for Teachers, Tutors, and Trainers in the Lifelong Learning Sector. Additionally, if you provide funded Work-Based Learning (WBL) as a trainer, obtaining the Level 3 Award may be necessary to meet your funding requirements.
This Level 3 qualification aims to equip all participants with the knowledge, skills, and understanding required to teach in the Lifelong Learning sector.
The aims and objectives of this program are to assist participants in:
- Understand the responsibilities, relationships, and roles within lifelong learning.
- Explore suitable learning and teaching methods within a specialized area.
- Understand the concept of inclusive teaching and learning in lifelong learning.
- Learn how to plan, deliver, and evaluate a micro-teaching session.
- Grasp the principles of assessment in lifelong learning.
The Level 3 qualification is suitable for anyone intending to become a teacher in the lifelong learning sector. It is also designed for those who need to obtain recognized teaching status as outlined in the New Overarching Professional Standards for Teachers, Tutors, and Trainers in the Lifelong Learning Sector.
There are no specific entry requirements for the program. However, applicants should possess qualifications or experience in the subject area they intend to teach.
Throughout the course, participants will need to create a portfolio that provides evidence demonstrating they have met the learning requirements for the qualification. This portfolio will encompass both theoretical and practical assessments. The practical assessment will involve a 15-minute micro-teaching session, conducted as part of the program, with feedback provided by both tutors and peers.
Upon completion of this qualification, graduates may advance to the Diploma in Education and Training (DET) or enroll in a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at a university.
